Christmas in our Hearts

Try not to forget the true meaning of Christmas.  Don't let the hustle and bustle of shopping, cooking, parties, presents, wrapping.... ruin what this amazing time of the year can bring.  I was able to go watch a live nativity at my in-laws farm and it brought so much peace and love for this time of year.  I was finally able to snap out of all the hustle and bustle of things and get back into the true meaning of Christmas.  What we need to focus on is our Savior, Jesus Christ and the humble circumstances he was born into.  He is and was such an example and the most perfect man to ever walk the earth, and yet to think where he was born.... brings many tears to my eyes.   I am so grateful to him for all he has done for not only me but for all of us!!  I love him with all of my heart.   Merry Christmas!!

Your Worth

D&C 18:10 "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God" I am teaching in Young Womens this coming Sunday on Recognizing our Individual Worth. Honestly this lesson couldn't have come more perfectly of a time than this, I have struggled with this issue a lot lately.  For no real reason, I just don't feel like i am doing much no matter how hard i try.  I want to feel important and like i am doing something good for the world, but sometimes the mundane day in and day out things get old and you begin to feel unimportant.  But those are the things that we really ARE supposed to be doing no matter how little or insignificant it may seem. Last week was a hard one for me on just not really feeling good about where I am right now in life, and enjoying the moment.  After I got over my pitty party and realized how truly blessed and loved I am by my dear husband, mom, brother, in-laws, friends and family.  I just couldn't help but feel humbled and grateful...

A Beacon to the World

Source   Two weeks ago I was able to speak in Sacrament Meeting in our new ward.  The topic was from April 2011 General Conference on Temples.  It was amazing!!  I learned so much from that talk and I want to share with all of you a little from that talk.... I truly feel that doing temple work is one of the most important things we can do here on earth.  There are so many people who have died without the Gospel in their lives who are waiting for someone to do that for them here on earth.  President Monson in his talk spoke about how the opportunity that he has had to dedicate and rededicate temples has been among the most enjoyable and sacred of the blessings he has received since becoming the Prophet.  In the October General Conference in 1902, Church President Joseph F Smith said that one day he hoped that we would “have temples built in the various parts of the world where they are needed for the convenience of the people”  During the ...

Scripture of the Day

Joshua 24:15 "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom you will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord"

Why am I so impatient??? I have GOT to work on this.  Does anybody else need to work on this with me?? I was with a friend today making the cutest little craft... her little boy was there and he was really fussy today, he was tired but didn't really want to go to sleep... he wanted to sit on her lap. Did she freak out, yell or throw a fit??... NOPE!  She was all about talking sweet with him, giving him kisses and talking to him... ALL while he was crying.  Oh and did I mention we were doing a craft?  I was so impressed, because that wouldn't have been how I acted in that situation. She was such a good example to me today and I learned a lot from her because I want to be like her in that aspect!  She is so patient! I found this AWESOME quote by Richard L Evans on Patience: "There seems to be little evidence that the Creator of the universe was ever in a hurry.  Everywhere, on this bounteous and beautiful earth, and to the farthest reaches of the firm...
