Health Kick Saturday

I have come to the realization many years ago that I love sweets , sugar and junk food .... don't we all??  If I'm hungry, all the healthy food thoughts go out the window and I snarf down a whole bag of Doritos.  Seriously though I've done that before . I decided a while ago that pre-portioning out healthy food and putting them in little containers and then into the fridge might work.  And let me tell you it has !  If I'm hungry and I open the fridge I don't just grab anything, i see the little containers and munch on something that is actually healthy for me. Some of the things i put into containers are: cut up cucumbers , carrots , half of a grapefruit , apples , orange slices , cottage cheese , and the possibilites are really endless... If you are or have had troubles like me with the grab and eat anything problem no matter what it is then give this a try, it just might work for ya!

Health Kick Saturday

This week I haven't eaten as good as I would have liked to. I am always sad when I know I can do better but I just couldn't help eating the cake, muddy buddies & cookies. I mean who could pass those things up?  Not me, obviously . You know what's awesome though?  You can always do better. This next week I am determined to eat clean and healthy.  I'll keep you updated on how I do. Isn't it funny how much we crave the yummy sweets and when we eat them, we LOVE them and they taste amazing but a few hours or days later you feel terrible.  But the less desirable things like fruits, veggies and water make you feel amazing after a few days?? I think of this as a lot of how life is.... we all have temptations, desires, and sometimes we fall into sin or temptation.  It may look and be fun at the time, but what about a few hours, days, weeks or months later.  Are we feeling good about ourselves??  I don't think so.  I know I don't. Health Kick Saturday

This week has been a great, but crazy one! I turned 25 on the 3rd.... I am feeling old, and that's why I need to do these Health Kick Saturdays to keep me healthy and young! :) After running a killer 12 miles I decided to make a shake. It really tasted so good! What you'll need: 1/4 C Water 1 banana handful of blueberries (i used frozen) Scoop of Be Buff chocolate protein (or whatever you have) Handful of Spinach Ice cubes Mix it all together & enjoy!  I know i did!

Alright, so I decided I am going to share some of the healthy recipes I make on this blog.... This could be a weekly occurance.  Something about Health Kick Saturday just fits :)  We'll see... So this morning after a good workout I decided I needed something really yummy. So I went with no-carb Banana Pancakes and Strawberry Yumminess on top. These are the ingredients you'll need to make the ridiculously easy pancakes.... What you'll need: 1 Banana 1 egg 1/4 t Vanilla 1/8 t Cinnamon 1/2 scoop of protein Put everything in a blender and mix together.. Turn on pan to medium heat, if it's too hot it won't cook correctly, also make sure to spray the pan. Flip and enjoy the finished product! Yum! Strawberry Yumminess: 5 frozen strawberries 1 t water 1t sweetener (i used agave nectar) Put in microwave for 1 minute, mash up and put on top of pancakes. It tastes so so good!
