Prepare

With General Conference coming up this weekend, I am starting to prepare myself spiritually for the amazing spirit and personal revelation we can feel and receive every six months during this special time.  

President Uchtdorf has given us three basic concepts to better receive, remember & apply the words spoken by the Lord's servants during General Conference.

1. Members of the Church are entitled to personal revelation as they listen to and study the inspired words spoken at General Conference.  A great way to receive that is to ponder and pray about questions you need to have answered.

2. Don’t discount a message merely because it sounds familiar.  Prophets have always taught by repetition; it is a law of learning.

3. The words spoken at general conference should be a compass that points the way for us during the coming months.  We need to use and apply the things they teach us every single day.

 

I am not perfect in these three areas, but I have been and am going to commit to continue preparing for the amazing blessings and revelation we can receive this weekend from our amazing Prophet and Apostles.  I challenge you to start preparing today as well so we can all get the most out of it!
