Fake.

Conference was incredible.
One of the main things I learned was A LOT about the scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon.
I need to be a whole lot better about studying and pondering what i've read.
I have committed to be better at that.
I am not going to write a lot about what I learned from conference today, what I am going to share with you is an AMAZING poem my sister-in-law wrote.  Keep in mind she is only 16, she is absolutely amazing at painting, writing and just about everything else.
{Please read all of it, it's just that great and worth it}

Fake
{Katrina Tolman}

Fake faces buried under makeup,
Fake hair in fake colors,
I sit in the background of a fake world,
Watching.

People always dieting,
All spending their money,
A subtle contest between everyone,
At who can look the best

Words on the internet,
Shadows of cowards,
That hide behind the fakeness
Of an idea that's disguised as cool,

Fake tans, fake eyelashes,
Fake nails and fake bodies,
Reality is so hard to find,
In a world of fake people

Imagine then, a world...
Where nothing is fake,
Simply, just everyday people,
Living ordinary lives,

Then what would be considered beauty?
Because the world has us deceived into thinking
That we aren't good enough
Being just us

We have to have more,
We have to alter, transform,
In order to meet the silent prospect of such low expectations,
Such degrading standards...
That seem to shout, from the TV screens and billboard signs,
That we aren't beautiful

On your left and on your right,
People are starting to believe them,
They are being convinced,
And they are letting down their guard,

Don't allow yourself to be told,
That you're anything less than beautiful,
You don't have to change anything about you
You're amazing. JUST the way you are,

It's hard to imagine,
How a perfectly beautiful girl,
Natural and pure,
Would want to be like the girls on magazines
Want the title of fake written in sharpie
Over the title of beauty

Magazine models,
So skinny, so pretty,
Or so they say,
But who's the one that defines this as beauty?

The people that go throughout life,
Still living in the world, but not of it,
Are the ones that reflect true beauty.
For they have the confidence,
And the nerve to stand up and be themselves
Even when taking that chance,
Isn't always good enough for other people.

Wake up world, and see how incredible,
Open your eyes and look past the surface
See the goodness that lives INSIDE
Of such a simple person

We don't have to be fake,
All we have to be,
Is ourselves

Do you compare yourselves to the magazine models?  Just don't buy them or look at them.  Stop watching TV.  It makes life that much better!  I promise.
