Catalina Island

Day 2:

Day two the cruise ship was in the port at Catalina Island... 


We woke up, had some breakfast and made our way off the ship in some transfer boats.
Justin & his brother Kyle were excited for the many adventures we were about to have!


As we pulled up to the Island I couldnt believe how gorgeous it was.  There were huge houses all along the side of the Island and cute quaint little shops along the bottom.  Jessica and I were talking about how we need to each have a house built there that we can go to in the summer.  Maybe someday when we're millionaires?  I don't think the picture does the island justice, you kinda have to see it in person.



Once we got to the Island we went shopping in the stores and got ready for our excursion.... 
in the freezing cold.  Literally FREEEEZING.
We purchased a snorkeling trip that was more expensive than all the rest of them because it was supposedly supposed to be the best one of all.  They were supposed to drive us in a boat out far so that we could see lots of cool things.  But that didn't happen, they drove us like five minutes to the area where the island "dumped" a lot of their garbage.  We were like what the heck!  But it was still fun even though we all froze.  We saw a baby shark, octopus, lots of fish and jelly fish.
We had to even get wet suits because it was so cold.

Once we were done snorkeling it was nice to get our jackets back on!!

After snorkeling we decided to head back to the ship and get ready for dinner that night.  It was formal night, so we were all supposed to dress up.  It was fun and once again had amazing food.  We all got lobster with shrimp and then of course the chocolate melting cake.

After the amazing dinner we decided it was once again time to go to bed.  We stuffed ourselves to the brim!  When we got back to our room we had another cute towel creature made for us!


It was a great day!

    Andy and I went on that cruise with some friends a few years ago and Catalina Island was our favorite part, it is such a cool place!! I'm glad you guys had fun!!

I'm having a baby!!!

I decided it was time to start updating my blog concerning the little sweetheart that is growing inside of me. It has been such a fun experience! Justin & I decided before we even got married that we wanted to wait a while to try having kids. We made the goal of waiting for 2 years, (with me begging lots of times and him holding to the original deal)... which I am actually grateful for. I am so incredibly happy for the time Justin & I spent together, JUST US. I know that isn't everyone's plan, but for us it was what we needed. We were able to vacation together, do things spur of the moment, start a business and get to know each other without the whole kid thing getting in the way. I was able to learn and grow in many aspects including mentally, physically, spiritually and emotionally and I think if I would have had kids any earlier I wouldn't have been as prepared and I know the timing is just perfect for us. Perfect at Trying

I loved the movie "Meet the Mormons" that recently came out in theaters. I especially love the song that David Archuleta sings called "Glorious" that gives me goosebumps. What I love the most about this movie is a quote by the "Humanitarian" that says: "I am perfect in one thing, I am perfect in trying."  This is how I feel as well. There are days where I try so hard and despite my efforts fall short, there are days that I try so hard and things fall perfectly into place just the way I had imagined. No matter the outcome, what's important is that I keep trying. A few months back I wrote a post called "Perfectionism" and the struggle I face almost daily.  I feel like because of social media, people get a wrong idea of our lives.
